365 Easy: The Only Consistency System That Survived My Clinic, My Crashes, and Raising Four Kids

I have spent years watching people try to change their lives the hard way. They start with intensity. They buy the program, the course, the meal plan, the new identity. Two weeks later they are back where they started, only more disappointed in themselves.

I saw it thousands of times in my wellness center. Patients walked in after seeing other doctors. They were ready to go all in. Keto. CrossFit. Thirty day challenges. I asked one simple question every time: Can you stick with that forever? Most of them went quiet.

The truth I learned treating people and living it myself is that intensity is a trap for normal humans. You design a system that only works when you are at 100 percent. Most days you are at 60 or 40 or 20. When the system fails you, you tell yourself you lack discipline. That story compounds until you stop trusting your own word.

I call the alternative 365 Easy. You design the action for your worst day, not your best day. You make it so small that failure is almost impossible. Then you do it every single day until the identity shifts.

When I had the clinic I used soda as the entry point with almost every patient who drank it. Three sodas a day became two for three weeks. They marked an X on a calendar. After three weeks they had proof they could keep a promise to themselves. Hope came back. Then we dropped it to one. Then every other day. Within a few months the soda was gone. Weight came off. Pain dropped. Medications reduced. The consistency muscle transferred to walking, then sleep, then food choices, then work.

I tracked the numbers for years. The go hard approach produced lasting change in about 2 percent of people. The start small approach produced lasting change in about 60 percent. Same patients. Different design.

This is the same principle that got me through the Army as a teenager running communications and intelligence in Iraq, through the 2008 crash with a newborn and every dollar I had invested since age 16 wiped out, through building and selling the clinic, and through raising four kids. You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems. If the system requires superhuman effort, it will fail on the days life is hard. And life is hard more days than it is easy.

Here is how you actually run it. Pick one thing. Make it embarrassingly small. Ten push ups. Twenty minute walk. Five dollars moved to savings. One page written. Thirty minutes on the business idea with the phone in another room. Write it down. Set a reminder. Do it for thirty days. Miss a day? Restart the next day with zero drama. No shame spiral. Just the next rep.

After thirty days the self trust starts to rebuild. You begin to believe yourself again when you say you will do something. That belief is the real compound interest. Everything else (energy, money, relationships, focus) rides on top of it.

I still use the same system today. When I cut social media off my phone for weeks at a time the same rule applies. Delete the apps. Make the default the offline life. Check from a desktop if needed. The dopamine reset is real. The brain feels lighter. You stop living in the constant noise.

The people who win long term are not the ones who go the hardest for three weeks. They are the ones who show up small for three years. Stephen Curry shoots hundreds of shots a day. MrBeast posted for years before anyone cared. The mountain only cares that you keep climbing.

Pick your one thing today. Make it small enough that you cannot fail. Do it tomorrow. Tag me on day 31. I want to see what happens when you actually keep the promise.
